“Top 10 Must See Movies Of 2016” by Blade Brown

With 2015 being such a huge year for cinemas, 2016 has its work cut out for it. But with the lineup of films coming out, we’re in for another big year. With a summer movie season that’s full of blockbusters and acclaimed directors releasing movies throughout the year, movie-goers should be more than content all year.

With all that being said, I’d like to offer my choices for the Top 10 Must See Movies of 2016.

10. Triple 9-February 26 (trailer)
Plot: A gang of criminals and corrupt cops plan the murder of a police officer in order to pull off their biggest heist yet across town.

9. The Nice Guys-May 20 (trailer)
Plot: A private eye investigates the apparent suicide of a fading porn star in 1970s Los Angeles and uncovers a conspiracy.

8. The Jungle Book April 15(trailer)
Plot: An orphan boy is raised in the jungle with the help of a pack of wolves, a bear, and a black panther.

7. Rogue One-December 16
Plot: Following the foundation of the Galactic Empire, a wayward band of Rebel fighters comes together to carry out a desperate mission: to steal the plans for the Death Star before it can be used to enforce the Emperor’s rule.

6. Deadpool- February 12(trailer)
Plot: In an effort to cure his cancer, former special forces operative Wade Wilson was subjected to an experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, disfigured skin, an unstable mind, and a “dark, twisted” sense of humor. Armed with new abilities and a new identity, Wilson hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

4. Finding Dory-June 17(trailer)
Plot: Taking place six months after Finding Nemo, Dory suddenly recalls her childhood memories. Remembering something about “the jewel of Monterey, California”, accompanied by Nemo and Marlin, she sets out to find her family. She arrives at the Monterey Marine Life Institute, where she meets Bailey, a white beluga whale; Destiny, a whale shark; and Hank the octopus, who becomes her guide.

3. Captain America: Civil War-May 6

Plot: After the events of Avengers: Age of Ultron, another international incident involving Steve Rogers and the Avengers results in collateral damage, prompting politicians to form a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to call in the Avengers, which results in the fracturing of the team into two opposing factions–one led by Rogers who wishes to operate without regulation, and one led by Tony Stark who supports government oversight–while they attempt to protect the world from a new enemy.

Plot: Following the events of Man of Steel, Gotham City-based vigilante Batman travels to Metropolis to preemptively combat Superman, while another threat endangers humankind.
