Ang P tackles depression in new visual honoring late best friend “My Profile”
Northwest rapper Ang P drops the fourth visual from his album, L.I.F.E. – Living In Fear Everyday, on the one year anniversary of the albums release date. My Profile.
The visual for “My Profile” while pretty simple, does a great job of conveying the feelings and emotions displayed in the lyrics. Ang P dressed very dapper with suspenders and bow tie in tow stands alone behind a mic rapping each verse making sure that his facial expressions and movements totally match the vibe of the record. In between spurts of Ang P spitting, scenes cut to a mime who acts out different feelings and lyrics as the track progresses. The black & white aesthetic with very little color throughout out the video further add to the aura of the project.
The track and accompanying visual are meant to bring awareness to depression and to emit some of the emotions people dealing with the disease may go through. Last year Ang P lost his best friend who was fighting with depression himself and this visual is in honor of him, Nick Longueira.
The song features vocals from Lega’C Jones and Dice as well, with the track being produced by the RLC’s own Page Turner. The video was directed by Red Williamson of Newspin Film in Olympia, WA. Stream the video via YouTube below:
